INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- That was easily the most hitting I've seen from the Komets in a period this season. Although, the two biggest hits came from Patrick Schafer of Missouri on Jamie Lovell and Mike Wakita on Fort Wayne's Bryant Molle, who was injured for a short time.
The game is scoreless though.
I would say about 70 percent of the period was spent in the Missouri end, with the rest in the neutral zone and a small bit in the Fort Wayne end.
The Komets lead in shots, 16-9. The two concerns I have about the Komets are they aren't quick enough to shoot and they took two retaliation penalties that cost them power plays.
But the Komets look like they want it a lot tonight.
