City-County Building to be renamed for Ed Rousseau

A dedication ceremony to change the name of the newly renovated City-County Building to the Edwin J. Rousseau Centre is set for 11 a.m. Monday. The event is open to the public at 1 E. Main St.

All Allen County commissioners, along with Mayor Tom Henry and Rousseau’s wife, Marilyn, will speak and members of the family will unveil a plaque honoring Rousseau.

Rousseau’s 40-year career in Allen County and Fort Wayne politics included terms as a city councilman, county councilman and county commissioner.

He died in 2009 after a lengthy battle with cancer at age 76.
