Kevin Boyd, who seeks the Democratic congressional nomination in Indiana’s 3rd District, announced Friday he has been endorsed by two labor groups.
Boyd said he has been endorsed by the Northeast Indiana Building Trades Council and Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 166.
“Union organizations are the backbone of our communities, help strengthen the middle class, and train the exceptional craftsmen and women that are so necessary as we build the future of northeast Indiana,” Boyd said in a statement.
Boyd, of Fort Wayne, is among six candidates in the Democratic field in the May 8 primary election. The others are Stephen Hope of Leo-Cedarville and Fort Wayne residents Justin Kuhnle, John Forest Roberson, Tommy Schrader and David Sowards.
