TinCaps lose as Kane County rallies

– A four-run eighth inning catapulted Kane County to an 8-5 victory over the TinCaps on Thursday at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva, Ill.

The TinCaps (4-10) took a one-run lead in the top of the sixth inning when Matthew Colantonio, on the front end of a double steal with Corey Adamson, scored on a throwing error.

The lead would be short-lived, however, when the Cougars (8-6) scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth and used a double play to erase the TinCaps in the ninth.

Daniel Mateo had the big blow for Kane County with a bases-loaded, one-out triple. He would then score when the next batter, Michael Antonio, singled to left.

Zach Kometani had an RBI single, and the TinCaps added two more runs on a throwing error by Kane County shortstop Orlando Calite.
