Eyeing IU

Yeagley on Parkview experience

Indiana defeated Notre Dame 5-4 in overtime in an exhibition at the Shindigz National Soccer Festival Saturday at Parkview Field.

This is the third year the teams have met in the spring at Parkview Field. The Hoosiers have won the last two contests.

"It was wonderful," Indiana coach Todd Yeagley said. "(Executive director) Terry (Stefankiewicz) and Shindigz and the whole festival, the amount of detail they put into this to make it a great event for the players. They feel special coming here. The venue is neat. It hits all of our goals for a spring competition. The great team we played against. The venue. The IU fans. The energy and there was pressure. That's good for our young players to feel pressure because that's what they'll have next fall when we play in front of some big crowds. It's always win-win here. I want to thank Fort Wayne for being good to the Hoosiers."
