Sometimes you read something and the only possible response is "What the (bleep) were you thinking?"
Consider this one of those times.
Coach, what the (bleep) were you thinking, letting a high school kid throw 193 pitches in 15 innings of work?
To his credit, the coach in question admits "the number is indefensible," but goes on to say the pitcher (Emerson Gibbs, a Tulane signee) isn't a hard thrower and has great mechanics. And besides, the kid himself said he wasn't tired.
Which, I'm sorry, reminds me of the scene in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" where the Black Knight gets his arm hacked off and vows to fight on, anyway.
"'Tis but a scratch," he scoffs, his stump spurting blood.
