The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning until 8 a.m. today for the Indiana counties of Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, DeKalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, LaPorte, LaGrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White and Whitley. A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely.
Temperatures near freezing are expected this morning. Northerly winds will continue to funnel unseasonably cold air into the region. Temperatures are expected to fall into the lower 30s by daybreak.
Frost formation should remain isolated to patchy and will be limited by sustained winds in the 5 to 15 mph range overnight.
Sensitive plants could still be damaged as temperatures fall to at or below freezing. Conditions could kill crops or other sensitive vegetation.
