Wabash gets $1.8 million for business park

U.S. Commerce Secretary John Bryson on Wednesday announced that the city of Wabash has received a $1.8 million Economic Development Administration grant to develop a business park.

The new business park is expected to generate about 540 new jobs and leverage $60 million in private investment, according to the announcement.

It said the grant will allow construction of roadway improvements and sewer, water, and drainage facilities to serve the city-owned 155-acre business park.

Businesses locating in the park will be encouraged to use green technology and energy-efficient systems.
