Laura J. Gardner - The Journal Gazette
Indiana Tech junior Derrius Carroll was a littlehesitant to walk up in front of a crowd during the lunch hour at the Andorfer Commons to read a poem titled "To Those Who Follow in Our Wake," by Bertolt Brecht. There was a low rumble of conversation going on in the lunch area, butas soonas Carroll began to read, people were quiet and listened. This month is National Poetry Month and Indiana Tech students and faculty shared poems of their own or read others to share.

Shooter's Comments: Today I went to a poetry reading at Indiana Tech. This month marks National Poetry Month. I thought this could potentially be a little boring to shoot, but it really wasn't. The students and faculty were very animated.

One guy in particular, Derrius, really had the crowd focused on him as he read a famous poem. When you go to these kinds of events it really inspires you. I thought it was interesting to hear different types of poems.
