Irish playing 3 in prime time

– Notre Dame?s third game this season will begin a string of three straight night games.

The Irish will play at Michigan State at 8 p.m. Sept. 15, ESPN and the Big Ten announced Tuesday. The game will be televised by ABC.

Notre Dame will follow the road night game by playing host to Michigan at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22, and the Irish will play Miami at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6 in its off-site game at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Notre Dame, which opens the season against Navy on Sept. 1 in Dublin, Ireland, has yet to announce starting times for road games vs. Oklahoma on Oct. 27, Boston College on Nov. 10 and USC on Nov. 24.

Notre Dame is home to Purdue on Sept. 8, Stanford on Oct. 13, BYU on Oct. 20, Pittsburgh on Nov. 3 and Wake Forest on Nov. 17. All of those games kick off at 3:30 p.m.

IU, Purdue kickoff times

Purdue?s Oct. 6 home game against Michigan will begin at 4 p.m. and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Times for three Indiana home games were also released. The Indiana State (Sept. 1), Ball State (Sept. 15) and Ohio State (Oct. 13) games will begin at 8 p.m. All three will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Boiler arrested, report says

Purdue running back Ralph Bolden was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication April 15, the Lafayette Journal and Courier reported Tuesday.

As of Monday afternoon, the Tippecanoe County prosecutor?s office had not filed formal charges, the paper reported.

Bolden is recovering from an ACL injury suffered in the regular-season finale at Indiana. He rushed for 674 yards and six touchdowns last season.

Ex-assistant’s team to play Irish

Former Notre Dame offensive coordinator Charley Molnar will return to Notre Dame Stadium in 2015. The University of Massachusetts announced on its website that it will play at Notre Dame on Sept. 26, 2015.

Molnar took over as head coach of the Minutemen, who begin their first season in the Football Bowl Subdivision this year, after this past season.
