The Komets looked great for about 10 minutes.
Then, they, um, didn't.
They trail the Missouri Mavericks 2-1 after the first period in Game 7 of the Turner Conference finals.
Ryan Jardine and Andrew Courtney scored power-play goals, off rebounds, after two dumb Fort Wayne penalties. Brent Henley hauled down a guy after coughing up the puck, and Tom Mele had a high-sticking penalty.
Frankie DeAngelis had the early power-play goal for Fort Wayne, also off a rebound, after Henley was boarded.
I'm not in love with the decision to play Bryant Molle, who missed the last two games with a shoulder injury, over David Starenky. The Mavericks came into the game tired and Starenky's physical play would have been good. But he's banged up, too.
