Lots to get you psyched for finals

WICHITA, Kan. -- OK, we've got lots to get you ready for the President's Cup finals, which begin tonight between the Komets and Wichita Thunder.

First of all, I put together the above video for you. It's a recap of the Komets' epic seven-game Turner Conference finals victory over the Missouri Mavericks, whittled down to 10 minutes. Enjoy.

The Komets are gearing up for a physical series on very little rest: Click here to read more.

I've got a feature on the Komets' X-factor, forward Tom Mele: Click here.

Here are the key match-ups of the series: Click here. (One thing that doesn't come through because it was a graphic for the print edition were that I gave Wichita the edge in forwards, I called the defensemen even, and I gave Fort Wayne the edge in goaltending, special teams and coaching.

I break down the series and pick a winner, in video form: Click here.

The Wichita Eagle has a preview: Click here. Some things jumped out at me in that story. First of all, the letdown that the Thunder isn't playing its rival, Missouri. I doubt they are, but could the Thunder be taking Fort Wayne lightly? Secondly, there's a lot on Daniel Tetrault, but no mention that he was on the Port Huron team that coughed up the 3-1 lead to Fort Wayne in 2010. Also, I don't know that Adam Russo verbally jousted with Nick Boucher, who pretty much didn't respond to Russo's tweets.

Bob Lutz also has a nice story on Wichita's great coach, Kevin McClelland: Click here.

The CHL put together a preview of the series: Click here.

Remember, I'll be tweeting a ton from out here: @jgkomets.
