The Komets are one win away from getting the ninth playoff championship in their 60-year history.
Led by two goals apiece from Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock and Colin Chaulk, they defeated the Wichita Thunder 7-3 Thursday night in front of 7,105 fans at Memorial Coliseum.
The Komets have a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Presidents' Cup finals and would hoist the trophy with a victory Saturday night at the Coliseum.
The Thunder played without goalie Adam Russo, who suffered a concussion in the Komets' 6-3 victory in Game 2 at Wichita, Kan.
