Wild period has K's up 5-2

Komets fans had to be thinking the worst when Brent Henley pulled down Aaron Davis from behind 2:29 into the game, giving him a penalty shot, a goal and a 1-0 lead.

But the Komets scored five of the next six goals, in a span of 11:58, and they are up 5-2 on the Wichita Thunder after one period in Memorial Coliseum.

If the Komets don't hoist the Presidents' Cup tonight, it would be a a terrible case of them falling apart.

The Komets have goals from Colin Chaulk, Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock, Frankie DeAngelis (power play), Bobby Chaumont and Mike Vaskivuo.

How's that for balance?
