TinCaps win behind strong pitching

Adys Portillo took a no-hitter into the seventh inning as the TinCaps topped South Bend 5-2 in front of 6,744 fans Wednesday at Parkview Field.

Matt Helm broke up the no-hit bid with a double with one out in the seventh.

Portillo retired the next two batters to finish his seven innings of work. Portillo struck out six and walked two batters.

Travis Whitmore led Fort Wayne's offense with two singles and two RBI. He also scored one run.
