South Bend scored in the first inning. Gerson Montilla brought Chris Ellison home with a single to left field.

Fort Wayne scored in the third inning. Corey Adamson drew a two-out walk. He moved to third when Clark Murphy singled to right. Justin Miller drove Adamson in with a single to left field.
