Body found in pond ID’d as trucker, 48

By analyzing dental records, authorities have identified a man who fishermen found dead this week in a retention pond in Holiday City, Ohio.

The body of 48-year-old Surat Nuenoom was discovered in the pond Monday, according to the Williams County Sheriff’s Department.

Preliminary findings from an autopsy are consistent with drowning as the cause of death, but the official cause and manner of death have not been released. Foul play is not suspected, the sheriff’s department said.

Nuenoom, a trucker from New Hampshire, was last seen in the Holiday City area March 15. He had checked into the Ramada Inn there.

After he did not deliver his load in Gary, his employer called the sheriff’s department. His belongings were still in his hotel room, and his tractor-trailer rig was in the parking lot. Authorities on foot and in aircraft searched the area without success.
