A recent talk with another gardener left us wondering what flowers will be left to bloom come July. Irises are blooming on Mother's Day when usually it is tulips.
I have planted my cannis and various flower seeds among the blooming iris in the side-yard garden. I am hoping this makes up for lost blooms this July.
Meanwhile I am enjoying the irises in front of my home. In past years, the deer have eaten the flower buds and so I never had the chance to see how pretty they are. This year the deer have been busy eating my neighbor's asparagus.
