Verbatim: Allow extra time for Huey Lewis concert

Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation issued this statement today:

Fort Wayne, IN: The Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department urges those attending the Friday night concert at Foellinger Theatre, An Evening with Huey Lewis & the News, to allow plenty of time for parking and locating seats before the 8 pm concert. This concert is sold out. The Foellinger Theatre doors and concessions will open at 7 p.m.

Patrons may park in the lot in front of the Foellinger Theatre, the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo parking lots, or any of the parking lots in Franke Park. The parking lot behind the Foellinger Theatre will be blocked off for Huey Lewis tour busses.

If you have reserved seats, ushers will be on hand to help you find your seat. The bleacher seats are first-come, first-served.

Foellinger Theatre is located in Franke Park next to the Children's Zoo on Sherman Boulevard. Out of town visitors coming in from I-69 can access the Foellinger Theatre by exiting at 109A (930/Coliseum Blvd.). After exiting, stay in a lane going straight at the intersection of Goshen Rd./Coliseum Blvd. and remain on Goshen Avenue until you reach Sherman Blvd. Turn left on to Sherman and the Theatre will be on your left hand side before you reach the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.

The Goshen Ave. exit will be open on the south side of the Foellinger Theatre overflow parking lot before and after the concert. Please be patient and cautious when entering and exiting the concert to make the process safe for everyone.

For more information, please call the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation office at 260-427-6000.
