Lee Orr hit a three-run home run with two outs in the ninth inning to give the TinCaps a 5-3 victory over Lansing on Wednesday at Cooley Law School Stadium.
It’s the first home run of the season for Orr. The TinCaps have won three in a row.
Lansing entered the ninth leading 3-2. Ajay Meyer walked Duanel Jones and Austin Hedges with one out. Kyle Gaedele was called out on strikes for the second out.
Orr then homered to center field.
Mike Gallic continued his recent tear, going 2 for 4 for Fort Wayne (19-21). It’s his fourth multi-hit game in Fort Wayne’s last five contests.
Gallic has a hit in each of the five games. He is 11 for 18 (.611 average) during the stretch.
Gallic played a role in Fort Wayne’s two-run third inning. Travis Whitmore had an RBI on a groundout. Gallic then drove in Donavan Tate with a single.
Lansing (27-12) scored one run each in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Andrew Burns hit a home run in the sixth to give the Lugnuts a 3-2 lead. It remained that way until Orr’s homer.
