Keys to the game

Five Fort Wayne pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts in a 4-3 win against Bowling Green.

Here are the highlights.

Key hit: Lee Orr knocked in a run with a two-out double in the fifth inning to give the TinCaps a 3-2 lead. Orr later scored in the inning on an error.

Key out(s): Reliever James Neely struck out Todd Glaesmann and Jeff Malm with the bases loaded to get out of a jam in the sixth inning.

Key relay: Bowling Green's Joshua Sale led off the third with a double. He rounded second and headed for third but was cut down thanks to a perfect relay that started with right fielder Yeison Asencio hitting cut-off man Casey McElroy. McElroy's throw to third reached Duanel Jones in plenty of time to get Sale.

Streaking: Donavan Tate extended a hitting streak to six with a single in the second inning.

Quotable:

"Our pitching staff has been carrying us so far. The bullpen has been great."
