U.S. 30 lanes open after 2-truck crash

A tractor-trailer rig back-ended a second rig Thursday morning in Warsaw, jackknifing and rolling over.

The crash closed most westbound lanes for hours, the Warsaw Police Department said in a written statement.

It said the front truck was at the traffic signal just east of Parker Street shortly before 6:20 a.m. when it was struck by the second truck driven by Horacio Rodriguez, 40, of Calumet City, Ill.

Rodriguez was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital with injuries and the driver of the first truck, Sharon Zakre, 42, of Niles, Mich., was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, the statement said.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management was called to the scene because adhesive material was being transported in the truck that that rolled over.

The crash remains under investigation.
