Mad Ants to introduce new coach

Duane Ticknor will be introduced Tuesday as the next coach of the Mad Ants.

The NBA Development League team plans a 2 p.m. news conference at Memorial Coliseum.

Ticknor, 57, coached the Dakota Wizards to back-to-back playoff appearances in 2008 and ’09. He replaces Steve Gansey, who took over the team early last season when Joey Meyer was fired.

The Mad Ants were 14-36 last season, worst in the D-League.

Steve Warden blogs all things Mad Ants.
