SPCA gets $15,000 PETCO grant

FORT WAYNE – The PETCO Foundation has given the Allen County SPCA a $15,000 grant.

The grant is being used for a transfer program, in which the shelter gets cats and dogs from Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control and other locations around northeast Indiana to give them a second chance at adoption, according to a statement issued by the SPCA.

Nearly all of the cats it has taken in have come from the city’s Animal Care & Control, the group said.

PETCO is providing money that will be used to spay or neuter each animal, provide necessary vaccinations and otherwise get them ready for adoption, the SPCA said.

The foundation gave the organization a $25,000 grant last year.
