BLOOMINGTON – Northeast Indiana was well-represented at the girls state track meet Friday at Indiana University.
Three area individuals, along with a relay team, won state titles at the season's finale and biggest track meet.
Wayne's Brionna Thomas won the 100- and 200-meter dashes, Warsaw's Ashley Erba won the 3,200 and DeKalb's Rachel Dincoff won the discus.
Thomas finished second and third in the 200 and 100 last year.
Erba added a track state title to the state cross country title she won in the fall, and Dincoff got her winning throw of 143 feet, 7 inches on her last throw.
Northrop captured first in the 1,600 relay. Relay team members were: Alexis Scott, Makelle Skelton, Dejah Arnold and Demetra Taylor.
Northrop, the 2011 co-state champion, finished second in the team race and lost to Pike 55-49.
Wayne was sixth with 27 points, and DeKalb was 10th with 17.
Area athletes also got several second-places, including Taylor (100 hurdles), Fremont's Abby Hostetler (1,600), Homestead's Ari Nelson (long jump), Northrop's Emma Mirwaldt (800) and the Bruins' 400 relay team of Scott, Skelton, Jaquell Taylor, Amber McGee.
