Convertible high chairs recalled

About 35,000 convertible high chairs distributed by Evenflo Inc., of Miamisburg, Ohio, have been recalled because an activity tray can detatch and cause an unrestrained child to fall.

The chairs were sold at Toys “R” Us and Walmart stores nationwide, and online at Walmart.com and Wayfair.com, between December 2011 and June 2012.

The Evenflo high chairs can convert from a high chair to toddler-size table and chair. The recalled convertible high chairs come in three models -- Dottie Lime, Dottie Rose and Marianna.

Model numbers are located on a label on the lower portion of one of the high chair’s legs. The high chairs were manufactured in China.

Evenflo has received 18 reports of trays that detached, including eight reports of children who fell from the high chair and suffered bumps and bruises.

For more information, contact Evenflo at 800-233-5921 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Fort Wayne time, or visit the company's website at http://safety.evenflo.com.
