Mastodons guard tears ACL

IPFW redshirt junior guard Justin Jordan will be out of action for the men’s basketball team until December after tearing his ACL on his left knee Sunday in a pickup game, he confirmed Wednesday.

“I was playing pickup with some of my teammates, and I came down funny and got nudged and my knee went in and out,” Jordan said by phone. “I just found out (Wednesday) that I tore my ACL. They said I will be out until December.”

A transfer from Saint Louis, the 5-foot-9 Jordan averaged 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists last season for the Mastodons in 20 games after gaining his eligibility in January.

Jordan, a former North Side standout, was a possible replacement at point guard for the departed Jonny Marlin, who left the program and is going to walk on at Indiana University.
