Richard Mourdock, the Republican candidate for a U.S. Senate seat for Indiana, will be among the speakers at CPAC Chicago on Friday.
“Conservatives Take Back the Midwest” is the theme of the conference, sponsored by the American Conservative Union.
Other speakers will include former GOP presidential hopefuls Rick Santorum, Herman Cain and Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.; New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie; Ohio Gov. John Kasich; and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.
The conference will be at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.
Mourdock, the state treasurer who beat six-term incumbent Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., in the Republican primary, will speak for 5 minutes at 10:55 a.m.
He “will talk about the importance of the Indiana Senate race in creating a conservative majority in the U.S. Senate,” campaign manager Jim Holden said in an email.
Mourdock faces Rep. Joe Donnelly, D-2nd, in the Nov. 6 general election.
