The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Nautilus Inc. announced Thursday that a voluntary recall of Bowflex SelectTech 1090 Dumbbells.

It said the weight selector dial can fail, causing weight plates to fall when the dumbbell is lifted from its cradle.

Nautilus has received 16 reports of the dial failing, including three reports of injuries to a user’s foot or leg.

They were sold at sporting goods stores, Nautilus.com and other online retailers from May 2011 through August 2011 for about $600.
