Verbatim: Motorcyclist killed in collison with deer on I-69

From a written report received Friday morning:

On Thursday June 7, 2012, at approximately 11:23 p.m., units were dispatched to a personal injury accident on Interstate 69 north of the 86 mile marker in Huntington County, Indiana.

Units arrived to find a motorcycle had been traveling northbound on the Interstate when a deer ran out into the motorcycle's path. The motorcycle was unable to avoid the deer and the driver of the motorcycle was ejected. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

At his time, we're unable to release the name of the victim until the family has been notified.

The cause of the death has yet to be determined.

The crash is being investigated by the Markle Police Department. The Markle Police Department was assisted by the Huntington County Rescue, Wells County EMS, Huntington County EMS, and the Parkview Samaritan Helicopter.
