Vikings expect big crowd at 4A title game

INDIANAPOLIS – Huntington North should have a big crowd for the Class 4A softball state championship game tonight at Ben Davis High School.

Vikings athletic director Mike Gasaway said he sold his 300 presale tickets pretty quickly, with a demand for more coming in the last couple of days.

A caravan of fans accompanied the team school bus today in anticipation of the team’s matchup against Plainfield, the final of four state games.

“We want to try to get a home-field advantage because the team we play (Plainfield) is pretty close to here,” Gasaway said of the Ben Davis softball complex on the city’s west side.

The Vikings are 23-7, while the Quakers are 22-9.
