Lakewood Park wins Class A title

INDIANAPOLIS – Lakewood Park won the Class 3A state softball championship Saturday with a 3-2 win over Indianapolis Lutheran at Ben Davis.

The Panthers (27-5) were the 2011 Class A state runners-up.

Courtney Sliger delivered the game-winning hit, scoring Jamie Budreau in the top of the seventh.

Sliger had three hits and two RBI.

Mikelia Boroff struck out out the last batter for Lutheran (24-5), one of nine strikeouts for Boroff.
