Manhunt underway after central Indiana slaying

LAPEL — Police in central Indiana are searching for a 53-year-old man considered armed and dangerous after a shooting at his ex-girlfriend's home left one person dead.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department and other officers are using a helicopter, canine units, bloodhounds and officers on foot to search for 53-year-old Ray Parmley. Part of Indiana 32 between Noblesville and Anderson has been shut down.

Deputies say a shooting near the town of Lapel early Saturday killed a relative of the ex-girlfriend. Police have not identified the victim.

Lapel is about 25 miles northeast of Indianapolis.
