More power: Lee Orr hit his eighth home run of the season. The hit snapped a 1 for 25 slump. Tyler Stubblefield also hit a home run for the TinCaps.

Key out: South Bend had runners on second and third with one out in the first inning. Cody Hebner struck out Matt Helm. He would retire the next 16 batters he faced. Hebner gave up one hit and struck out five in the victory.
