Musician Ralph Tourkow is fondly remembered as a talented musician who had a jovial sense of humor and a schedule of dinner dates. His family and friends agree that to meet Tourkow was to instantly meet a friend.Kendallville has enacted an Emergency Burn Ban on all open burning within the city because of the drought conditions.
The notice issued Tuesday afternoon said the ban includes campfires, burning of brush, trash, burn barrels and any other open-air burning, including fireworks.
The city said the ban will remain in force until sufficient rain is received to green vegetation again.
