CHEERS to the customer who paid my bill recently at Applebees on Meijer Drive. While attending a fundraising event for the St. Joseph Township volunteer fire department, I witnessed a man sitting at the bar suddenly fall backward to the floor. I rushed to his aid, as did a female EMT who was also in the restaurant. After eating and asking for my bill, the manager advised me that another customer had paid it. I was very surprised and thankful.

CHEERS to the American Senior Communities for providing tickets to Pops on Pipes – Grand Page Organ Concert on May 13. A special thanks to a great fireman (Andrew) who helped assist my mother and many others from their cars to the Embassy. Mark Herman played the organ with all the bells and whistles – what a talent. Kroger provided cupcakes at intermission. They all made Mothers Day extra special.
