The Northeast Branch of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society announced that Craig Vanderwall Jr. of General Petroleum and Jill Sample of Granite Ridge Builders are the 2012 Man and Woman of the Year. The six candidates for the award raised $144,000 for the society.

•Luckey Babies Birthday Bash, celebrating babies born in Luckey Hospital, will be from noon to 6 p.m. July 7. The event is at the Luckey Hospital Museum in Wolf Lake, U.S. 33 and Indiana 109, and includes hospital tours, food, entertainment and games. Admission is $5.
