Plea for Scott's store

Republican City Councilman Russ Jehl this morning released a letter he and Democratic state Rep. Win Moses sent to the Kroger Co. asking the company to rebuild the now-closed Scott's store on North Anthony Boulevard at Crescent Avenue.

The presidents of six neighborhood associations in the area also signed the letter.

The store has been closed several weeks after structural problems were discovered.

Clemens verdict?

Jurors in the perjury trial of former baseball great Roger Clemens resume deliberations today after a four-day break. Jurors received the case last Tuesday and met nearly four hours Wednesday before suspending deliberations due to scheduling issues facing both the judge and some jurors.

Clemens is accused of lying to Congress when he said he did not use steroids.

World economy on stage

The Group of 20 world economic leaders meet in Mexico today and Tuesday, relieved that supporters of bailing out the Greek economy won elections in that nation.

While the European economy will take center stage, President Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold their own meeting during the summit.
