INDIANAPOLIS – Roche Diagnostics Corp. says it plans to spend $300 million over the next decade on projects at its North American headquarters in Indianapolis.

Company executives announced Wednesday that work would start this fall on building a center for training customers on the use of its medical products. Roche also plans to refurbish existing buildings, buy manufacturing equipment for new diabetes care test strips and upgrade its computer equipment.

The subsidiary of Swiss-based Roche now has about 3,000 employees in Indiana and says it expects adding up to 100 jobs at the Indianapolis headquarters by 2017.

Roche Diagnostics president Jack Phillips said the company is proud to be part of a growing life sciences industry in central Indiana and that the investment shows that Roche is committed to Indianapolis.
