River trash turned into art

Sayaka Ganz, a Fort Wayne artist and instructor at IPFW, makes an adjustment Friday to a sculpture she created from debris pulled from the St. Joseph River during the last Earth Day cleanup and other discarded objects. The sculpture will be on display today during IPFW RiverFest 2012 and will later be moved to a permanent location behind the university’s Visual Arts building. RiverFest will run from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. today on the IPFW campus.
