Fort Wayne couldn't complete a late comeback, falling to Lake County 4-2 in front of 5,269 fans Sunday at Parkview Field.

Here are the highlights.

Key hit: Jordan Smith knocked in Francisco Lindor with a two-out single in the first inning to give the Captains a 1-0 lead. Lake County led the rest of the way.

Key relief: Dennis O'Grady kept the TinCaps in the game with four scoreless relief innings. He struck out one and gave up three hits. James Needy followed with two more scoreless innings for Fort Wayne.

Close call: The TinCaps scored a run in the ninth, had another runner thrown out at the plate while trying to score on a wild pitch and had runners on first and second when Kyle Gaedele grounded into a force play to end the game.

Streaking: Fort Wayne still hasn't swept a three-game series at Parkview Field since May 27-29, 2011 against Great Lakes. … Fort Wayne have not hit a home run since June 11, a stretch of nine games.

Hits: Jace Peterson, Tyler Stubblefield and Duanel Jones had two hits for Fort Wayne.
