Driver faces DWI, hit-and-run charges

Moon

A 22-year-old Fremont woman was charged early Friday with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property-damage crash.

A 52-year-old man's vehicle was rear-ended about 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Indiana 127 and Steuben County Road 400 North, the Steuben County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

A short time later on U.S. 20, officers found a grey Toyota car traveling with no lights and the front bumper dragging on the ground near Silver Lake Trailer Park, the statement said.

The damage on the car was consistent with the damage to the rear-ended vehicle, the statement said, and Dana Moon was taken to the Steuben County Sheriff's Office for a certified breath test before being charged.

No bond amount was immediately available.

The sheriff's department said no injuries were reported.
