TinCaps win again

Fort Wayne won for the sixth time in seven games, beating Lake County 5-4 Monday at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio.

Duanel Jones had two hits, including a home run, and two RBI. He also scored two runs. Jace Peterson and Travis Whitmore also had two hits for Fort Wayne (8-3, 39-42 overall). The win assures the TinCaps of their fourth consecutive series victory to start the second half.

Dennis O’Grady pitched three scoreless relief innings for the win. He struck out three Captains (5-6, 36-44). The final game of the series starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Before Monday’s game, Fort Wayne placed infielder/outfielder Lee Orr on the disabled list. Outfielder Kyung-Min Na was reinstated from the disabled list.
