Chaulk to return as player-assistant coach

Colin Chaulk will return to the Komets as player-assistant coach for the 2012-13 season, the club announced today.

The Komets also confirmed that Brett Smith and Kaleigh Lincoln Schrock had agreed to a contract for next season.

The team also announced:

  • Rookie defenseman Kyle Atkins has been added to the preseason roster. Atkins, 23, recently completed four seasons with the Holy Cross Athletics of the Atlantic Hockey Association. Before that, he spent three seasons with the Brockville Braves of the Central Junior A Hockey League.
  • Home exhibition games will be against Evansville at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6 and 5 p.m. Oct. 7. The Komets will play the IceMen 11 times during the regular season, including six games at the Coliseum.
  • The regular-season home opener will be at 8 p.m. Oct. 12 against Kalamazoo. The first road game is Oct. 13 at Evansville.
