Homicide victim ID'd; was in fight

FORT WAYNE – A 31-year-old Fort Wayne man died after at fight this weekend, the Allen County Coroner's Office announced Tuesday.

The death of Keith James Gavura has been ruled a homicide and the cause of death was blunt-force injury to the head, the office said in a statement.

He was pronounced dead Sunday at an apartment in the 5500 block of River Run Trail, just south of St. Joe Center Road.

The coroner's office said Gavura had been involved in an altercation early Saturday evening at the home of an acquaintance.

He fell and his head hit the pavement, according to initial reports.

His death is the 20th homicide in Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2012.
