The body of Thomas Haskins was a day away from being cremated – and his closest kin didn’t even know he was dead.A bicyclist was struck Monday as he was crossing an intersection in Warsaw.
Brandon Evans, 30, of Vincennes was riding north on Bronson Street shortly after 6 p.m. when he crossed Center Street and was struck by a vehicle driven by Rick Hatcher, 55, of Warsaw, according to a statement from the Warsaw Police Department.
A witness told police the light for Center Street traffic was in the process of changing when the crash occurred.
Because of the severity of his injuries, Evans was flown to a hospital in Fort Wayne, police said.
His condition was not immediately available Tuesday.
