Bicyclist hit, badly injured in Warsaw

A bicyclist was struck Monday as he was crossing an intersection in Warsaw.

Brandon Evans, 30, of Vincennes was riding north on Bronson Street shortly after 6 p.m. when he crossed Center Street and was struck by a vehicle driven by Rick Hatcher, 55, of Warsaw, according to a statement from the Warsaw Police Department.

A witness told police the light for Center Street traffic was in the process of changing when the crash occurred.

Because of the severity of his injuries, Evans was flown to a hospital in Fort Wayne, police said.

His condition was not immediately available Tuesday.
