Local choir to perform on ‘GMA’

Fort Wayne’s Voices of Unity Choir will add a Monday performance on “Good Morning America” to its schedule in Cincinnati as part of the 2012 World Choir Games.

The ABC morning show will be in downtown Cincinnati for a live taping and will include the local youth choir’s performance at 8 a.m. at Fountain Square.

The group plans to sing “I Can,” the official song of the World Choir Games, which are taking place in Cincinnati.

After the Monday performance, Voices of Unity will compete next in the Choir Games’ gospel category at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Procter & Gamble Hall at the Aronoff Center for the Arts.

The choir was the world champion in the gospel category during the 2010 games in Shaoxing, China, and hopes to defend its title.
