It's not a tribble, just a chunk of roving.

July 7: Day 8

Those of you who live, well, anywhere, probably know it was HOT on Saturday. So, I chilled out in the air conditioning and ended up spinning my beautiful BFL for about 2.5 hours. It all looked just the same as before, so I didn't take any pictures.

July 8: Day 9

On Sunday, I meant to just spin for about 1.5 hours before I went to my knitting group. But, I was so smitten that I actually hauled my wheel to the coffee shop, to finish up spinning those 8 oz. and ply. That took about 2 hours.

I finished spinning and plied without too much incident. I'm really happy with the yarn. It's my thinnest and most consistent yet. I didn't take any photos yet, because I like to see it after it's washed.

I did wash it up, and the "Norwegian," and hung it up to dry. It might be ready for photos on Tuesday.

July 9: Day 10

This morning I spun Romney roving for about 20 minutes. After working with so much concentration on the BFL, I needed a break.

So, I'm tearing Romney off in chunks and long-draw spinning it from the fold. I love this technique because it is FAST, but it's hard for me to control it very well or get a thin thread. So, it's really more just for fun.

I needed to try a new technique anyway, since my right shoulder and hand were getting a bit sore from using short-draw so much on the BFL. It's a good thing that there are at least 6 (maybe 7, maybe 200) ways to spin.
