This has been wild ... literally.
The Beloit Snappers' Tyler Jones threw 40 pitches in the second inning -- so many that the TinCaps' Frank Garces, who has yet to allow a hit, actually had to start warming-up in the bullpen again -- and Fort Wayne has a 3-0 lead at Parkview Field.
The TinCaps have five hits and four stolen bases, taking advantage of the poor play of Jones and his catcher, Jairo Rodriguez, who have a wild pitch and a passed ball.
Remember, Fort Wayne is on a four-game losing streak, during which it has batted 1.39 with runners in scoring position.
Garces hasn't allowed a hit. Jones has thrown 51 pitches.
Things are looking good for the TinCaps, who are in a four-way tie for first place in the second half in the Eastern Division.
