Family Dollar Services Inc. of Matthews, N.C., has recalled about 280,000 light sets because they pose a fire and shock risk, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said today.
There have been three reports of the "200 Mini Lights" sets overheating, the commission said in a statement. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
The recalled sets have "200 Mini Lights" and "Multi Lights, Green Wire" printed on the red box. The product’s is identified by SKU No. 2211428 and UPC No. 049696720465 found on the back of the package.
The product contains labels attached to a tag on the power cord, with UL Listing No. E346525 and Model No. F0L200A4S.
The sets, which were made in China, were sold exclusively at Family Dollar stores from September 2011 to December 2011 for $8, the commission said.
Consumers should immediately stop using the light sets and return them to a Family Dollar store for a full refund, it said.
